New vet for DAFWA
Veterinarian Kylie Snowden-Tucker has been appointed to the Moora office of the Department of Agriculture and Food with responsibility for animal disease surveillance.
Dr Snowden-Tucker is an honours graduate from Murdoch University and is the only Indigenous woman in Australia to have completed an Honours Degree in Animal Welfare.
Kimberly planning committee
The make-up of the new Kimberley Regional Planning Committee - one of four new Regional Planning Committees being established in the State’s north – have been announced.
The members are: Gary Prattley from theWA Planning Commission (Chair); Philip Woodward from theDepartment of Planning; Gail McGowan, Department of State Development; Peter Stubbs, Department of Regional Development and Lands; Daryl Moncrieff, Department of Environment and Conservation; Ivor Roberts, Department of Mines and Petroleum; Jeff Gooding, Kimberley Development Commission; Jack Burton, Derby/West Kimberley Council; Graeme Campbell, Broome Shire; Fred Mills, Wyndham-East Kimberley Shire; Wayne Bergmann, Kimberley Land Council; and Niegel Grazia from Woodside/ Chamber of Minerals and Energy

The new Director of Public Prosecutions for WA is Joseph McGrath.
Mr McGrath has worked as a Barrister-at-Law at Francis Burt Chambers since 2001 and has appeared as a counsel on behalf of the State and Commonwealth Governments.
He took up his position on 1 February.
New faces on food Commission
Three new commissioners have been appointed to the Agricultural Produce Commission. Dr William Ryan and Ray Moir will serve on the Commission for three-years and Graeme Robertson will serve for 18 months.
Dr Ryan will replace Peter Wells as Chairman.
Current Commissioner, Yvonne Fahl has been re-appointed for 18 months.
Walmsley to planning committee Mike Walmsley has been appointed to the Peel Region Planning Committee.
The move increases the Local Government’s representation on the Committee to three, with Paddi Creevey and Noel Nancarrow continuing to serve. Paul Fitzpatrick has been appointed as the Committee’s community affairs representative in place of Coral Richards. Fred Chaney junior has been appointed as the professional representative on the Committee.
Remaining members are Gary Prattley (Chair), Maree De Lacey and Cameron Bulstrode.
New faces at ScreenWest
The Chair of ScreenWest, Erica Smyth and Board members Alan Lindsay and Catherine Ferrari, have been reappointed for a further three-year period, expiring in December 2012.
Board member Joan Peters is standing down after six years.
Women’s Council to advise
A total of 13 women have been appointed to a newly-formed Women’s Advisory Council. Maria Saraceni has been appointed chairperson and other members are: Kate Davis, Penelope Northcott, Anne Deanus, Lily Chen, Lesley Cala, Julie Brown, Agnes Vacca, Annette Chivers, Helen McNeair, Pat Twiss, Amanda Lovitt and Jill Hill. Publichealth advocate, Dr Rosanna Capolingua has been appointed Chair of the Healthway Board.
Healthway is an independent statutory body that reports to the Minister for Health on its work to support healthy lifestyles and reduce the burden of preventable disease.
Dr Capolingua, who has been a member of the Board since 2000, replaces Olympic gold-medal hockey player, Jenn Morris.
Beevers stays at TAFE Bert Beevers has been reappointed Managing Director of Central West TAFE.
Mr Beevers’ reappointment is effective from 18 January 2010 for five years. He was first appointed to the position in January 2005 and prior to his appointment, held senior management roles at various TAFE Colleges.
Webb back at Gardens Mark Webb has been reappointed as Chief Executive of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority.
He has held the position since November 2004 and his new appointment is for five years.
Prior to becoming Chief Executive, Mr Webb was a Director of the Authority.
